I must say I wasn't expecting this change of pace for the first single, Heaven but what a slow-burner gem: powerful and hypnotic and quite unlike anything Depeche Mode has put out before. The "B" side, All That's Mine is vintage Mode and a perfect example of comparisons of their upcoming new release, Delta Machine, as a cross between Violator and Songs of Faith and Devotion.
I agree with Dave who in a recent interview said that Depeche Mode is probably one of top alternative bands out there. I loved their last 2 records which I thought were among their best. With this new album, I am sure I'm going to have to dedicate a spot near the top of the list of the their finest work. I'm already getting the sense that Delta Machine will be one of the top albums of 2013.
